Jubilee Pilgrimage 2025

On Sunday, September 14th, over 18 parishioners from Blessed Sacrament and St. Linus joined the central deanery's Jubilee Pilgrimage Walk at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston in celebration of the Holy Jubilee year 2025. Parishioners marched in procession behind their parish banner and led by parish altar servers and priests. Our parish had Fr. Charles Ogbuagu and the Dillon boys - Brody, Nash & Duggan - in the lead. Thanks to all who represented our parish!

Blessed Sacrament 45th Anniversary

On September 6, 2025 the parish celebrated the 45th anniversary of the dedication of Blessed Sacrament church. At the same time, the 30th anniversary of the Catholic Women's League and the Knights of Columbus were also celebrated. Anniversary plaques were presented following a special mass, which was attended by some of the priests who have served at Blessed Sacrament as well as current and former CWL and KofC members. After mass, refreshments were served outside and parishioners were able to mingle and visit. It was a joyous celebration of our parish community!

Blessed Sacrament Euchre Club

Did you know that our euchre club is 13 years old? A dedicated core group of eager euchre fans join with newcomers on the third Tuesday of every month, including summer months. Games are casual, fun-filled with lots of teasing and laughs. Prizes are awarded and the cover charge is only $2.00. Water and snacks are provided. Please join us for a fun evening and improve your skills...all levels of players are welcome!

Father's Day Coffee House

The Catholic Women's League provided a musical Father's Day social after Mass on Sunlday, June 15th, to honour the men in our parish. Strawberry-themed desserts and beverages were available along with live music from Traffic Jam. It was a fun-filled morning for all!

2025 Garage and Bake Sale

The Knights of Columbus had a very successful Garage Sale on Saturday, May 31st, with lots of interest from the community. A concurrent Bake Sale put on by the Catholic Women's League was an additional treat!

Nineteen young people were confirmed on Sunday, May 18th by Archbishop Michael Mulhall!

BLESSING OF THE BIKES

On Thursday, May 1, 2025 Father Charles performed a special Blessing of the Bikes in the parking lot of Blessed Sacrament church.

FIRST COMMUNION 2025

First Communion took place on April 27th, 2025 with 29 students receiving communion.

EASTER TRIDIUUM 2025

Easter celebrations took place between April 17-20, 2025. Holy Thursday was well attended and the one hour directed adoration at the Altar of Repose was uplifting for those who attended. On Good Friday, Veneration of the Cross was the highlight of the day. Then the Easter Vigil ("the mother of all vigils") took place on Saturday evening. The church was lit by candlelight as the flame was shared with one another. We were blessed to welcome two new Catholics into our congregation with Baptism and Confirmation. Special thanks to all who took an active part in our Easter celebrations - musicians, altar servers, readers, decorators and those who led the Adoration!

INTERNET SAFETY

On March 11, 2025 the CWL invited Darren Smith, an IT specialist, to speak on Internet Safety. All parishioners were invited to this engaging talk about protecting oneself from viruses, scams, hacks and other current internet-related issues. We learned how to develop strong passwords that we could remember, what to do with a suspicious email and how to respond to phone calls that request money. It was a worthwhile evening!

BAPTISM OF PRESTON HAMMER

On February 22, 2025, Preston Gerhard Hammer was baptized at Blessed Sacrament church. Proud parents were Matthew Preston and Katarina Beck.

CHRISTMAS AT BLESSED SACRAMENT

Christmas 2024 was an "O Holy Night" with our decorating team providing colour and light to the church. The Christmas liturgies, beginning with the Children's Pageant on December 24th, were inspiring and uplifting! Thanks to the many volunteers who helped made the occasion special - decorators, pageant leaders (and the children!), lectors, eucharistic ministers, musicians, greeters, altar servers and others who helped behind the scenes!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS GARAGE SALE / CWL BAKE SALE

A successful garage and bake sale were held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024. The sales were well attended by the parish and Amherstview communities!

OUR ALTAR SERVERS

WELCOME FATHER CHARLES!

On Saturday, July 20th, Father Charles Ogbuagu was welcomed to Blessed Sacrament Parish with an outdoor reception following Mass. There were plenty of treats and everyone had an opportunity to speak with our new priest.

FAREWELL FATHER AMERICO!

On Saturday, July 25th a potluck dinner was held to say farewell to our priest, Fr. Americo Santos. Food was plentiful and everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you Fr. Americo, for being our administrator this past year. It has been a pleasure and we wish you all the best in your new position as pastor in St. Peter's Church, Cambridge, Massachusetts!
