Blog #7: The End of the Beginning
May 12, 2020
A lot of things have a beginning, a middle and an end...that thought came to my mind because of how we have been living since the middle of March...This covid-19 pandemic experience has a beginning, a middle and an end. Right now I think we are at the end of its beginning, which is the coronavirus hitting Canada and we stayed home and tried to stop the spread. The middle is on the horizon. It will last a year or two because it will be living our new normal: shopping, exercising, travelling, wearing masks, being tested, lining up, reduced crowds, etc. The end will not happen until a vaccine is developed, distributed and available to everyone.
All in all, people have done very well adjusting to “stay home: stay safe” – and – I am optimistic that we will also adjust to our new normal. Although we were fairly comfortable with our old normal, the key for us will be just to move on and to see the new normal as another opportunity to improve ourselves. I know there is always room for me to improve. I am going to try to improve myself to be a better person, to try to improve in how I relate to my family, and to try to improve as your Pastor.
For you too, there is room for improvement. As we move from the end of the beginning to the middle of this pandemic experience, try to improve to be your best self, try to relate better to your family, and try to improve in other areas of your life.
Hopefully our new normal will be a time for all of us to be “new and improved.”
